What To Expect

Expect to have fun, to be challenged, and most of all…to surprise yourself!

Classes are open to students of all skill levels, and beginners are welcomed into a supportive, helpful, non-competitive atmosphere.

Bring a positive attitude, a willingness to work, and a healthy curiosity about your own strengths and limitations. You’ll soon learn that each session can be a personal epiphany of self-discovery as you begin to routinely accomplish things you never thought possible!

For FIERCE™ AERIAL FITNESS, one prerequisite is necessary: you will need to be able to hold your own body weight hanging by your hands. Not for very long :)

  • Expect a cardio, stretch and core warm-up, then you will be ready to begin learning the “ropes” on the trapeze, silks and rope.
  • Wear leggings that are tight and cover the back of your knees to protect from friction with the trapeze bar and “burns” from the rope or silks.
  • You will be inverting, so wear either a leotard or a shirt that is snug and won't flip over your head.
  • You will be barefoot, but you might want to invest in ankle supports to support and protect your ankles on the trapeze. Some students like to wear socks under their supports for more comfort.
  • Over time you’ll build hand, wrist, and forearm strength, but starting out you might want the support of gymnastic grips on the trapeze bars.
  • The less padding the better.
  • You’ll need to remove all jewelry that might snag or get caught in any of the apparatus—toe rings, watches, bracelets, rings with stones, necklaces, and earrings that dangle or have sharp edges. (Most students just leave it home.)
  • Belly button piercings are OK if they are well covered.

There are no prerequisites for FLOAT™ AERIAL YOGA classes. You do not need wrist or ankle supports.

Please arrive to class on time and bring your receipt of payment with you if you do not already have a class card.
