Think of those perfect celebrity bodies…What’s their secret? Most celebrity trainers actually employ a combination of various fitness approaches—and charge plenty for their equipment and attention.
Skybody’s FIERCE ™ AERIAL FITNESS is an aerial fitness program that combines the benefits of many different exercise regimens. Using hanging rope, silks, and trapezes, this fusion of fitness and aerial artistry turns the human body into the perfect exercise machine, working body weight against gravity in an ideal balance of exertion and movement.
Students gradually take to the air, learning to focus on their bodies in space while maintaining body control. Students practice a variety of moves—lifts, turns, and swings—all designed to build amazing core and upper-body strength and stamina, sculpt lean, long muscles and a sexy, toned physique, and develop a sense of ease and gracefulness that becomes a part of their daily lives.
Students develop at their own pace, confronting fears and challenging their own limitations in a safe and supportive environment.
No one is ever asked to do something they are not comfortable with and not ready to do. Safety and common sense always comes first.
Privates, semi-privates and small group classes are offered in:
FIERCE BEGINNER SILKS/TRAPEZE: Using trapeze and silks, learn basic vocabulary and skills needed to take to the air. No experience necessary. Surprise yourself the first day of class! learn basic climbs and moves on both apparatus.
FIERCE AERIAL BOOTCAMP: Mix it up using aerial various aerial apparatus for conditioning, combined with plyometrics, strength and functional training exercises, pilates and yoga on the mat. Great addition to the other aerial classes!
AERIAL PLAYTIME: any adult and child sharing aerial "playtime". Learn moves together. Try some aerial doubles!
FIERCE Intermediate/Adv. AERIAL: Learn climbs, drops, moves and segues into beautiful controlled movement in the air. This class is for those with some previous aerial experience. Understanding locks, keys, wraps and various climbs is necessary as a prerequisite.
FIERCE Beginner Silks/Trapeze and Intermediate/Adv Aerial classes are held at MMAC, 248 west 60 st, on the weekends. See the calender for times.
FIERCE Beginnner S/T is offered on Wednesdays , and Aerial Bootcamp on Fridays at Bridge for Dance Studios, 2726 Broadway, near 104 st.
